Certain antacids can reduce the effectiveness of Zithromax tablets and Zithromax powder, so you should allow time between taking antacids and your Zithromax dose.

Zithromax is used totreat fungal infectionsin teh medicine. It is also used to prevent or treat
fungal infections in children, including thrush and acne. Zithromax is also used to treat infections in adults and children over 14 years of age.
Zithromax is a brand name for Z-Pack, aninfection treatment containing azole antifungalsused with the brand name Drug-Pretreated Fungal Infection (DPFI).
Zithromax 250 mg/250 mg Oral Tablet is a medicine containing azole antifungals. Z-Pack is used with DPIFA to treat vaginal candidiasis and other fungal infections in adults and children over 14 years of age. The DPIFA is used to prevent the development of candida in the body.
Z-Pack may be taken with or without meals. It should be taken to the lowest dose of medicine that provides the most benefit. It should not be taken more often than once every 24 hours. Z-Pack should not be taken more than once a day. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Nausea, constipation, diarrhea, or wind may occur as a result of taking this medicine. If these effects persist or worsen, talk with your doctor.
Do not use Z-Pack if you are allergic to any of the medicines. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are also a user of another medicine.
Nursing mothers: If your baby has any of these side effects, breastfeed into 3 months of age. Do not use any baby feeding toys (such as a spoon or toothbrush) after the first 3 months of your baby's life.
If your baby is breast-feeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about the use of Z-Pack. It is not known if Z-Pack passes into breast milk or if it may be used by breastfeeding mothers.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Z-Pack if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Breastfeeding mothers should wash their hands before and while taking Z-Pack, unless absolutely required by their infant. Mothers of infants take Z-Pack only when absolutely necessary.
Speak to your doctor before taking Z-Pack if you areorof medicines containing azole antifungals (such as DPIFA).
Precautions and Contraindications
This medicine contains azole antifungals. Do not take it with any of the medicines mentioned in this leaflet including some that may affect how well your baby can feed. Before taking Z-Pack, your doctor should be aware that you are taking azole antifungals. If you have not told your doctor if you are taking azole antifungals, your doctor should not take this medicine. You should not breast-feed while taking this medicine. Also, do not drive or play any kind of activity until you know how you react to it. Avoid contact with others' eyes. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine. Before taking Zithromax, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine you are taking or if you have any other allergies.
Pregnant and lactating women: Zithromax should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine. If you are pregnant or are planning to have a pregnancy, talk with your doctor before taking this medicine. Drug-Pretreated Fungal Infection (DPFI) is a serious infection that usually gets better with time. If your baby is born with a bad reaction to this medicine, talk with your doctor.
Breast-feeding mothers: Do not breast-feed while taking this medicine. If you are planning to have a baby, talk with your doctor before taking this medicine.
